Coaching with Technology

In the hands of an experienced coach, its the roadway to a new destination.

In my years of coaching, I have heard countless instructors that don't choose to use technology that its is unnecessary and overloads the student with information. These are the words of someone too afraid to put their coaching on the line with something that would validate their methodology. It's like someone saying its better to ride a horse to work than drive a Tesla. My mother is 84 years old and when she was in her 70's said she didn't want a cell phone or Facebook. Now she uses an ipad and Facebook to communicate with friends out of state and her grandkids and wouldn't give it up.  However, technology used incorrectly can be harmful more than good if the person wielding it is uneducated or reckless with it. So let me tell you how I use technology to make you better, faster.

Launch monitors, force plates, even video gives us a result. You swing movement (seen on video) is an action that is a result of an intention which is executed by your level physical capability. Launch monitor data is a result of a collision between your club's face and the ball. Force plates are a reaction of your mass and the ground.  So it is not correct to try to coach someone to a standard, or average of data results but more to understand how all the information paints a large puzzle to be solved.
